Hydrocyclons are used to separate sand and suspended particles inside wells and rivers. The separation method in hydrocyclones is based on the specific gravity of suspended particulate matter in the water, plus the centrifugal force of the flow of flow into the device, due to the fluid rotation due to the specific gravity difference.
